The ultimate animal-lovers career! In just two years, this program will teach you the anatomy, physiology and behavior of animals, husbandry, safety and health care of animals. Also, learn about animal pharmaceuticals as you care for large and/or small breed animals.

The Veterinary Assistant Diploma will prepare graduates for entry-level positions in the animal care field. The skills learned will prepare students to assist with basic animal care, feeding, and boarding. Experience with large and small animals is provided. Training includes office procedures and software applications. This diploma leads directly into the Veterinary Technical, AAS, Degree.

In partnership with La’ James International College, Iowa Central now offers online classes and hands-on training for students interested in a cosmetology career.  The two new courses offered for the start of the 2024FA term will directly apply toward hours needed for the cosmetology program at LJIC.
